About smartjobs: staffing agency in Erftstadt since 2014
We provide and recruit skilled workers and helpers for trades, production, logistics and recycling. We are based in Erftstadt in the Rhein-Erft district near Cologne. This page explains who is behind smartjobs and how we work.
Who we are
smartjobs personaldienstleistungen GmbH was founded in 2014 and is registered at the Cologne Local Court under HRB 80542. Managing director is Marcin Pikula. Our office is at Am Spürkerkreuz 4, 50374 Erftstadt, between the A1 and A61 motorways.
We are a member of the German Federation of Staffing Providers (GVP). Our employees are paid according to the GVP/DGB collective agreements.
When you call us, you speak to someone who knows the companies and has met the applicants in person – not a call centre.
What we do
Our core business is temporary staffing: we employ workers ourselves and assign them to client companies for weeks, months or until they are hired by the client. We also offer recruitment, where we find candidates for a permanent position directly with the client. We discuss with each company which route fits its needs.
Most of our vacancies are in the skilled trades. Further areas are production and industry, warehouse and logistics, and recycling and waste disposal. We fill helper positions as well as skilled worker and master craftsman positions.

Where we work
Regionally, our focus is the Rhein-Erft district and Cologne: Erftstadt, Kerpen, Hürth, Brühl, Frechen, Weilerswist and Cologne itself. Being close means we can visit companies before we propose anyone, and our employees can simply drop by with questions.
We also serve clients in Aachen, Mönchengladbach, Troisdorf and Trier. In the skilled trades, our installation workers are on projects all over Germany.
How we work

Personal interview.
Every applicant visits us in Erftstadt or talks to us by video. We check certificates, journeyman certificates, welding certificates, forklift licences and residence permits in the original.

Careful selection.
We only propose profiles whose documents and experience match the position, stating qualifications, availability and language skills.

Clear arrangements.
Tasks, working hours and terms are agreed before the start – for the company and for the employee.

Support during the assignment.
One permanent contact person for the company and the employee, available by phone and WhatsApp.
For applicants
If you work through smartjobs, your employment contract is with us, with social insurance and pay according to the collective agreement. The client company may change, your employer stays the same. An assignment can lead to being hired by the client; for us that is a normal path.

Languages
Many of our employees come from Poland, Romania and other EU countries. That is why we hold interviews in German and Polish. This website is available in eleven languages so applicants can read the vacancies in their own language.
